Inground Lifts
Inground Lifts
An inground lift hides in the floor. When it's down, your bay is a clean, open slab — no columns, no posts, nothing to walk around — which is why dealer service departments and high-end shops choose them for both appearance and workflow. We carry the Rotary SmartLift inground line, the ALI Gold-Certified standard for inground service.
One honest thing first: inground lifts are a construction decision, not a drop-in purchase. They require floor excavation and a containment box poured into the concrete, so they make the most sense when you're building a new shop, renovating a bay, or replacing an existing inground unit. If your slab is already down and you're not breaking concrete, a four-post or two-post will get you there without the dig — and we'll tell you so on the Fit Check.
The inground lifts we carry (Rotary SmartLift)
SL210 — 10,000 lb, two-post inground. Rotary's flagship service inground. Patented TRIO 3-stage arms reach ~18% farther than standard two-stage arms, "Easy Access" cylinders cut maintenance downtime dramatically, and the single-piece polymer composite containment means no EPA concerns about leaks into the soil. Available with round pads (RA) or truck-frame adapters (TA).
SL210-MP8 — 8,000 lb, drive-over pads. No arms — just flush polymer drive-over pads for the fastest in-and-out. Built for tire shops, quick-lube, and parking-style service bays that want the clean inground look with minimal setup per vehicle.
SL212 — 12,000 lb, two-post inground. Same hidden-in-floor SmartLift technology as the SL210, scaled up for 1-ton-plus trucks and heavier commercial service, with longer-reach TRIO arms and included stack adapters.
SLW Wide — 10K or 12K, EV-ready. The next-generation SmartLift with a stance ~1.5× wider than standard and patent-pending All-Vehicle (AV) arms. It opens up 88 inches of unobstructed working space and 48% more under-car access — purpose-built for EV battery service and future-proofing a dealer service center. Includes both round-pad and truck-frame adapters in one lift.
SmartLift install kits (sold separately). For phased construction or retrofits — the Future Kit (the containment box that gets poured into the concrete now) and Finish Kit (the superstructure that goes in later) can be ordered on their own. Doing a brand-new install? Buy the complete SL210/SL212 bundle — every stage is included.
How to choose
- Service arms or drive-over pads? Arms (SL210/SL212) for overhead work; drive-over pads (MP8) for fast tire/lube throughput.
- Capacity: 8K for quick service, 10K for general service, 12K for 1-ton-plus trucks.
- Planning for EVs? The SLW wide-stance is the future-proof choice — standard models work fine if you're not.
- Timing: if construction is underway, we can spec the Future Kit to pour now and finish later.
Buying from Auto Lift Services
Inground is exactly the kind of purchase where a real installer matters. Your free Fit Check confirms whether inground is right for your build, what the excavation and containment require, and which SmartLift model fits your vehicles and bay. Install coordination is deposit-based and planned around your construction timeline, and we service what we sell — including floor-level cylinder maintenance these lifts are designed for.
