Wheel Balancers
Wheel Balancers
A balancer is the difference between a smooth ride and a comeback. The question for most shops isn't whether to have one — it's whether a standard spin balancer is enough, or whether the volume and the comebacks justify a road-force machine.
Spin balancer vs. road-force — which you need
- Standard spin balancer: spins the wheel and tells you where to add weight to correct imbalance. Fast, affordable, and right for the majority of everyday passenger work.
- Road-force balancer: rolls a load roller against the tire to simulate the weight of the road, so it catches problems a spin balancer can't — stiff spots in the tire, wheel runout, and tire/wheel match issues that cause vibration even when the wheel is "balanced." If you chase ride-quality complaints or sell a lot of premium tires, road force pays for itself in fewer comebacks.
Brands we carry
We're a Hunter dealer — Hunter's road-force balancers are the benchmark in the category. Note the territory: Hunter equipment is sold by quote to customers in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Illinois only. We also work with other leading balancer brands; tell us your volume and we'll recommend the fit.
What to think about
- Comeback rate and tire mix — high-end tires and ride complaints point to road force.
- Throughput — match the machine's speed to your busiest days.
- Bundle with a tire changer — balancers and tire changers are usually bought together; ask about pairing.
- Power — confirmed on the Fit Check.
