Measure the old part before you order and again against the new part when it arrives: overall length, diameter, groove and cross-hole locations, and thread size on anything threaded. On threaded hardware, run the nut on by hand first — if it fights, check for welding slag or damaged threads and clean them up with a file rather than powering the nut on and wrecking both parts.

Close is not correct on load-bearing hardware. A pin that is slightly undersized hammers its bore oval; a bolt of the wrong grade shears under a load the right one shrugs off. If what arrived does not match what came out, install nothing and call — guessing is the one move with no good outcome.
