Replacing old cables? Replace them together. Lift cables wear together — when one is worn out, the rest have carried the same load for the same hours and are right behind it. A lift running new and old cables side by side will not stay level, and we think it’s dangerous. The only time a single cable makes sense is when a nearly-new cable got bent or damaged during a move or install.
