The Challenger 16122 lift arm assembly is the direct replacement for the Challenger lift it came off of. Cross-referenced as ALS-7233-03, it is the genuine Challenger part — same part number, same fit, and same working specification as the one already on your lift. Ordering the Challenger lift arm assembly from us gets you the OEM piece that matches the lift, not an aftermarket knock-off that is close but not the same.

Specifications

• Part number: ALS-7233-03
• Brand: Challenger
• Type: Genuine OEM lift arm assembly

The restraint gear on a 2-post lift is the toothed gear that engages when the lifting arm swings in under load, locking the arm at whatever angle the tech set it to. When teeth wear round, chip, or the pawl gear that engages into the restraint gear loses its point, the arm can swing under load — and a swung arm with a vehicle on it drops the vehicle. Any restraint gear that will not positively catch the arm under light hand pressure needs to come off, whether the teeth look okay or not.

Ordering the right revision

Before this goes in the cart, grab two things off your lift: the model number and the serial number, both on the manufacturer's plate. The serial matters more than most people expect — lift makers revise components between production runs without renaming the lift, and the run your serial falls in determines which revision of this part is correct.

If you are working from a failed part rather than a plate, measure what you have and photograph how it mounts. Send that to us along with the lift brand, and we will check it against the same parts breakdowns our own techs use in the field before you commit to the order.

Also inspect

• Arm pin — if you had a bad restraint gear you may also have a mushroomed or grooved arm pin
• Foot-pad rubber — intact, securely attached
• Return spring on the pawl
• Arm itself — broken welds, cracks, severe rust

A restraint gear that will not engage is a lift that is unsafe to load. Do not put a vehicle on the lift until you confirm both arms lock positively under hand pressure.
